We the Women: Empowering Video
I created the "We the Women" video to empower women not just within my school, but also throughout the community. In Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, there is very little diversity. I feel as if women are being empowered more than ever in 2018-2019 America. So my thought with this video was why not get my hometown involved. For the audio, I asked several different women to say the words to the American Preamble from the United States Constitution, but I changed the iconic line, "We the people...", to "We the women..." From there, I edited the audio to align with each other, allowing the voices to come together as one to say the Preamble starting with "We the women of the United States...". For the video, I filmed different women in a variety of locations. I captured different angles to get a variety of footage and from there added a warp effect to stabilize each video. Since I only had about 30 seconds to put in each one, I had to go through and choose the video clips I felt represented the women of today. This video will also be submitted into multiple film festivals in hopes of empowering more girls like me who have a wonderful amount of creativity. I also hope that it can be used to empower not just women, but people all around the United States.

For this video, I wanted to have a funny or sarcastic tone. Some videos that I make for our high school broadcasting class, "Tribe Time", consist of skits or parody's. In this video, I am filming a parody of the TV show, "Real Housewives of Orange County", as the "Real Students of WASHS". In this video, I created a storyboard and selected segments that I felt people would get hurt over, for example Madeline Johnson stealing milk from Bruce during their lunch. After I filmed each storyboard segment, I made my idea come alive with editing and polished it up with some sound effects and screenshots of people's reactions.
A tip on how to stay warm in the Winter.
I decided to add this to my portfolio to showcase the different types of transitions that I love to use while I film. This segment was used mostly for humor. I designed it to "make fun of" TV shows that say how bad the conditions are, but in reality they are living perfectly fine. I also designed it to be more informative. This one scene is a part of much larger segment, but I felt this scene would be perfect to showcase the transitions that I made. By the way, the low quality is due to file importing and exporting during the transition into this portfolio.
Our school special needs coffee program.
In our school we have a special needs class that learn work ethic and entrepreneurship through a small business that they do for our school called "School Grounds". In this small business they get orders from teachers for drinks that they make and deliver it to them. Tribe Time is a sort of news cast in our school that we show every Friday. These are the types of segments that usually go in-informative segments that relate to our school. As you see, we still have the funny ones to keep the interest of 1200-1300 students ranging from 13-18 in age. With this in mind, we have to keep each and every episode or segment as fun yet informative, as this one showcases.
Trip to Tanzania
This video is all about my trip last year to Tanzania. All of the film and pictures where taken on my phone because I could not bring my camera. While I was there, I was a member of a dental ministry team. Though I did do many things that involved dentistry, I also talked to many of the people there, as you can probably tell. I believe that when someone travels they should watch and talk to people. There is something similar and different about every culture and person and I love to see that. To make this video, I took what film I had gotten throughout the trip and put it together with some music that I thought fit fairly well with the videos. It was a simple video to make. I really enjoyed making this one because of all of the memories I made while I was there. Videos and films not only bring something new to the audience, but also bring back good, bad, or amazing memories that will last forever.
Photography
Though I also love to make films and videos, in my free time I enjoy editing and doing photography for my friends. I like to take part in showing others the beauty in themselves and the beauty in objects. I like to do photography to advance my skills as a film maker and also show and teach myself more on photography. Here are some of my favorites that I have done this past year.
